I've been trying to catch up on all the movies I wanted to watch and missed. Am quite happy I managed to watch a few that's been on my 'to-watch' list since forever ;)
Borrowed a DVD of this movie from Y's sister:
After watching this movie, I felt like cooking too! But then, the idea of having to buy all the cooking equipments and ingredients [meaning lots of $$ to be spent] and not being 100% sure whether I am able to cook at all detered me from doing so. Haha...
Nevertheless, that didn't stop me from browsing in Borders to look for the book this movie is based on. I found it. And I found another book that got me even more excited ~ The cookbook written by Julia Child 'Mastering the Art of French Cooking' that Julie Powell cooked from! But nope, not gonna buy it coz I know my limits. Don't have the time, talent and ability to cook like Julie and Julia.
Julia Child was played by the immensely talented Meryl Streep. She outdone herself again for her excellent portrayal of Julia and was nominated for Best Actress by numerous film awards and won most of them.
Amy Adams' portrayal of Julie Powell was funny yet real. Can't believe this is the same woman who was the Princess Giselle from Enchanted.Great movie! Thoroughly enjoyed it.
