Phuket! Sun, Sea & Sand... But I Had NONE of That!

Was in Phuket for almost a week for training. Stayed at Le Meridien Hotel. It was quite far from the happening places and the service didn't live up to my expectations. They put me in a huge room with 3 single beds instead of the king-sized bed room I requested prior to this trip. I called to request for a room change. Then, I was given a room, yes, with a king-sized bed but it was a smoking room! When I specifically requested non-smoking also prior to this trip! There was a humidifier in the room and I was told the smoke smell will be gone in an hour. Which was a lie! Throughout my stay, the smoke stench stayed in the room. And, I had company in my room in the form of ants. The room was infested with them! Arrgghh... And the ironing board was dirty and dusty and the iron was not working when I hadta iron my wrinkled clothes. The best part was when I was told the hotel didn't have an in-house laundry service so I can't get them to express-iron my clothes for me coz they needed to send it to a 3rd party. WTH!! But... I didn't wanna make a fuss so I didn't make any complains. Until a few days ago, when I was sent a survery form again [I realise the Starwood ppl can be quite persistent when it comes to survey forms], asking me to rate the hotel. I was brutally honest, so too bad for them. They asked for it. So now, let's hope they do something about it.
Okay, okay, the hotel wasn't all that bad. I really like their rain-shower. Super love taking long long showers when I was there. I really need to get one of these when I have a house of my own.

I enjoyed the training. Learnt stuff which is useful for my work. Got to know colleagues from all over the region. Food was great. Shopping was fantastic. My bag was too full, till I gotta get a large paperbag to bring all my stuff back to KL.

It was the MD's birthday on our first day of training. After dinner, all of us went to one of the Phuket cafes to celebrate with him. Since everything's on the house, I couldn't resist but to order this though I was quite full:
Yummy! So delicious!!

Sad thing about this trip was, I was cooped up in the training room during the day and didn't get the chance to explore the full facilities the hotel hadta offer, I didn't get to go to the beach nor get some sun nor swim in the pool. All that sucked! Coz there I was in one of the most popular islands in the region and I couldn't do anything that it is famous for.

Luckily, I was not deprieved of shopping... And food. Thai food rocks!!
