Bad Mani/Pedi Session :(

Went for a manicure and pedicure in 1U today with lil sis. Didn't call to book at Color Culture [note to self: from now onwards, MUST remember to call and book for nail appointments!!] and they were full. Walked around the mall to check out the other nail shops and all of them were full except Missy Nails.

Since I wanted to do my nails so badly [drove all the way there for it!], I decided to do it in Missy Nails. It was a HUGE mistake.

My pedi was alright... Love the color...
But my mani was awful. The lady who did my mani was kinda crazy, I think. She was very rough when removing my cuticles, cut very deep and it hurt. By the time she was done cleaning my nails, my right thumb had 2 cuts and 1 of it was bleeding quite a bit. Painful!
Without putting any hand lotion on my hands [which most nail salons do when I go for a manicure], she started applying base coat on my nails. Then, she wanted to paint my fingernails the exact same color as my toenails. I told her I wanted a different color.

"But your nails are so nice! It'll look better if you have it the same color as your toenails. Darker. The lighter color is not as nice," she said.
"Urm.. No, I'll stick to the color I chose for my fingernails," I replied.
"Ok, as you like! You wanna try new color? Ok! Make my job easier. Darker color is harder to paint anyway!" she huffed, annoyed that I refused to listen to her and have my nails the same color as my toenails.

She then proceeded to paint 2 coats of polish. After she was done, she examined her work, then exclaimed, "Ok, this color looks alright as well." Then, put my hands in a machine to help the polish dry... With just 2 coats of polish, without the topcoat.

I was thinking, ok, maybe she wanted to dry my nails a bit then apply the topcoat. But no! She didn't! In the end, when her colleague came to check on me and told me I am done, I was quite appalled. No topcoat? I told the girl that I didn't have topcoat on and she looked quite shocked. After checking my nails closely, she apologised and quickly applied the topcoat for me. I then hadta wait another 5-10 minutes for my nails to dry before I could leave.

As for my lil sister, the girl doing her pedicure cut and pulled out a lot of dead skin deep within the sides of her toenails. It was really painful for her and one of her toes was bleeding [and now it's red and  swollen].
It was my lil sister's first time having her nails done and I feel quite bad taking her to such a lousy shop. Must have totally ruined her first experience in a nail shop. Not only was the work bad, the manicurists in the shop were rough, brash and totally ignorant about their customers. They chatted with one another loudly while working. When their mobilephones rang, they'd stop tending to us and answered their calls. While waiting for our polish to dry, they ate in front of us, talked and laughed and one of them was watching a show in her laptop. Goodness!!

When we were walking out the shop, my sister told me the girl who did her nails was very gentle and when I asked her did the girl apply hand lotion for her, she said yes. Which means, my crazy manicurist not only forgot my topcoat, she forgot my hand lotion as well. The polish was not painted on well and there are bubbles on it. Sigh... Can't believe I paid RM160 for such crappy work!

This will be the first and last time I'll ever go to this nail shop again!
