Tiong Geh, my friend from secondary school, finally got hitched after about 8-9 years of courtship. His wife, Ling Yan, is a very sweet, warm and friendly girl. So happy for the newlyweds!
Wedding dinner was at Golden Sun Restaurant at Kuchai Lama. Got there late. Drove like mad coz I didn't wanna end up walkin into the restaurant together with the bride & groom. Haha...
Luckily, was not the latest to arrive. Had time to sign on the guestbook, find my table, sit down for a breather before the couple made their 'walk' into the restaurant.
Was seated with lotsa old friends. Which made me think that weddings nowadays serve as unofficial reunions too coz it's when everyone made the effort to be present despite their busy schedules. If you try to organize a get-together dinner, you'll get replies like "Busy, can't make it", "Sorry gotta work", "Sorry outstation", "Sorry got plans", and the excuses go on and on and on...
But when it comes to weddings, there's no excuse. Coz it's a once in a lifetime thing for a friend, so everyone hafta give face and show up. So, I think weddings really can also be an excuse for a reunion for old friends. Haha...
I had a great time catching up with a lot of friends whom I've not seen for years and years. I marvelled at the changes on some of them and how some looked exactly the same. *Laughs*
It was an evening well spent with great company :)
