I was feeling pretty bummed coz I'll be missing Y's farewell dinner and party. I really means a lot to me to be there with him. I was upset with myself for agreeing to let the agent present my photo to the client. At the back of my mind, I was thinking no way I'd be selected. Well, I guess you'll get it when you least expect it and you won't get it if you really really want it.
Got to the Shooting Valley real early, like 6am. Slept only for 3 hours max the night before. Was super tired. Saw a large group of people waiting outside the entrance. They were all dancers. The guard didn't let us in. Waited outside for the longest time, chatting with the other girls. To my surprise, I saw a familiar face walk by. Justina! Known her for ages. She's the makeup artist for this shoot. Oh good!! Was so happy to see her there. Then, another surprise. Julie walked up to us! Fancy seeing her there. She's also there for the shoot. Goodness! At least there are people I know there. Won't be so bored.
Finally, we were allowed in. Had a quick breakfast. Then went for makeup. They had my hair all tied back, hadta wear a tight hair net, which made me look like I'm shooting an episode of 'Grey's Anatomy' as a cancer patient. After that, I hafta squeeze myself into the tight bodysuit. Felt pretty self-conscious at first. But towards the end of the day, I wasn't feeling shy or anything anymore. Just wanna get the whole thing over and done with and go home. I know the stylist, Emma. Worked with her on another shoot. But she didn't recognize me. Hmmph!
Here are all of us in full makeup and wardrobe. So colorful huh?
They called us the 'CMYK Girls'. The catering guys called us 'Power Rangers'. One of the girls said we looked like colorful 'Teletubbies'. I think the girls in black look like 'Black Rose', a character from a chinese TV series. Then, towards the end of the day, I felt we looked like Vegas dancers, just needed an elaborate headgear to complete the look. *LOL*
Actually, we're all meant to be cartridges in a printer. We were, after all, shooting a Canon printer TVC. The dancers were all in white. They were supposed to be the paper. Hahaha...
Long long long wait... Was so bored. Chit chatted with the girls and made some new friends. Watched the dancers do their thing. Watched the shoot. Waited and waited...
Finally, after waiting from 6am to about 2pm, we got called down to shoot a scene. And it was not an easy one. Each of us girls hadta sit on a couple of dancers' hands, smile and act happy while they walked a few steps to the front, then while they let us back down, we need to step on the ground gracefully, smiling still then walk to the front and stand in a row and smile. OMG! Not easy. Not easy to coordinate the movements of so many people to make them do the same things at the same time without any prior practise. We hadta do it over and over and over and over again. I forgot how many times we need to re-take coz someone was slow, someone was off balance, someone wasn't smiling enough, etc, etc. I felt like an eternity when the director finally had the perfect shot.
Then, it's back to the waiting game....
Towards night, after dinner, we sat at the stairs and watched the dancers in action again. They must be exhausted. Dancing from morning til night. Non-stop.
Then, finally, at about close to 12am, they told us they'll be shooting our last scene! Hurray! They released the black and yellow girls, coz they're not needed anymore. They were so quick to change and happy to leave. Jealous! I wished I was either one of the black or yellow girls. All hopes of joining Y at his farewell party were getting slimmer at the seconds ticked by.
At first they told us it'll js take an hour. But no!! It didn't. They took so long to set up the hydraulic chair, etc. Then went to the other side of the studio to shoot another scene. Left us all sitting there waiting. I took the opportunity to snap some pics with the makeup artists and stylists. And with Sam. I think she's so pretty and intelligent. Very matured for someone her age. I enjoyed talking to her. She seems confident and knows what she wants in life. And taking steps towards realising her aspirations. I'm impressed. Coz I'm such a fickle minded person. And easily confused. I can't make up my mind and stick to it. I dunno wad I want most of the time. Hmm... Must really start to really focus on deciding what I really wanna do in my life.
After a long long time, finally, they began shooting us. One by one, we were told to sit on the chair and present to shoot the gun, aiming at an imaginery target. Haha... Felt kinda stupid doing that actually...
Finally got to pose a bit with the helmet on, completed the entire look. Now I don't look so bald anymore. Haha... But I'm super pink!!
She looks so cute!! Haha...
In the end, I was released at 2am. Hadta drop one of the girls back as she didn't have transport. Didn't make it for Y's party :'( Felt so sad... Sigh...Well, at least I got to make some new friends and earned some $...
Let's hope I'll get more jobs soon, which pays more and will not take as long as this. I was so exhausted, I crashed on my bed right after shower and slept til about 3pm the next day. Hahhaahaha....
