Oh, I'm Just Sooo BUSY!!!

While talking to Yaacob the other day, we touched on the topic of how some people like to give the impression that they are extremely busy, probably to show just how important they are.

And yes, unfortunately, there are a lot of disillusioned souls out there who mistake being busy as being important. I remember reading an article about these kinda people in Cleo [forgot which issue it was].

So, hmmm.... Why do people do that? Why do they send out this message that they are busy to their friends, family, business associates just so that they might feel and appear important. Really? Being super busy equals to importance?

I really don't think so. I think sometimes it can't be help if you have a lot to do and you're busy. But not all the time right? If you're busy all the time then something must be wrong with your efficiency and time management. If you're always rushing off here and there to meet someone or to get something done, then won't you think you're giving an impression you're very disorganized and can't run your life in a proper and timely manner?

Also, I personally think people who equate being busy as being important are just a bunch of insecured people. They worry about how other people think of them too much, and feel the need to always impose an air of busy-ness so that they appear to be wanted and important. Why feel the need to impress other people so much? Why care so much about what other people think of you, important and wanted or not? I think it's just pitiful to seek approval this way from your friends and family.

I, on the other hand, would love to have all the time in the world to spend with the ones I love, and to have quality time spent with friends, etc and not be always rushing off here and there with the pretense of being busy [= important]. Coz soon, if I keep behaving this way, I think people will get fedup of me and want to see me less. Then, the whole fake busy-ness backfires, doesn't it?
