At the Post Office...

I realized there are a lot of ignorant people in the world. I was at the post office just now and the concentration of ignorant people there were sky high.

What I observed:
  1. There are people who didn't bother to look at the number dispenser machine to ensure they get the right number for the right counter. Coz, different counters are assigned to process different things i.e. bills payment, driver's license renewal, rebate on car petrol, mailing, etc. If everyone who walks into the post office would bother to find out which correct button to press at the dispenser machine, they won't have to waste time waiting and waiting only to find out at the counter that they got the wrong number and have to get another number for the correct counter and wait all over again.
  2. There are people who don't bother to find out the procedure of the things they want to get done. E.g. if you want to get the cash rebate for petrol, first, get the form, fill it in then when it's your turn, go to the counter, quickly fish out your I.C and voila, the entire process will be done within minutes. Instead, there are people who just decided to walk in, take a number, sit and wait for half an hour, then when it's their turn at the counter, only ask what they need to do to get their cash rebate, only then, fill in the form, then behave blurly and have to be told to produce their I.C, etc. If they are a bit brighter and pro-active, they would have saved themselves and other people's time by filling in the form prior to even getting a number. Hmmmph!!
  3. There are people who are just not observant. They've been waiting for their turn for like close to an hour, but just don't feel the need to observe what's to be done at the counter so that they know what to do when it's their turn. Instead, they daydream, and when their number's called, snap outta their reverie and looked around stupidly then slowly rise and walk towards the counter and then stood there doing nothing, and wait for the person behind the counter to brief them on what to do, what docs to show, etc.
  4. And of coz, there are those inconsiderate people, who got the wrong waiting number for the wrong counter, then decided they do not want to wait all over again and decided to just walk up to any counter, explain their 'kesian' situation in hopes to be able to cut queue.

Need I say more about typical Malaysian behaviour? Only 1 hour and 20 minutes spent in the post office and I'm already brimming full of 'Malaysian ignorance & inconsideration'.
