I was driving to work some day last week, listening to FlyFM's Pagi Show's Fat Phabes and Ben talk about the issue of bad customer service. They were sharing their stories on how badly they were treated by sales personnel in high end boutiques because they were not dressed to the nines when they entered the premises. Then, they invited callers to call in and tell their stories. There was one particular chick who called in and said that she is a sales personnel in a high end boutique and she was professionally trained to serve customers. Then, she related her story: One day a lady went into her shop, dressed shabbily. She did not want to waste her time serving the lady coz of how the lady was dressed. To her, the lady did not respect her shop by walking in poorly dressed. But in the end, the lady bought about RM2000+ worth of items from her shop.
Okaaay... To me, so what if the lady walked into the shop not dressed at if she's going to the Oscar's? Anyone who enters the shop is a customer, and the sales people's job is to serve their customers. Are they professionally trained to ignore customers who don't look like tai tais and just give their individed attention to those who walk in looking like rich datins? Is this the training they get?? And what does she mean by respect? She as a sales assistant should respect each and everyone of her customers and not look down upon those who does not dress well. I think that girl's call to the radio station is just plain stupid coz it reflected so badly on what an ignorant, selfish and foolish individual she is. I totally disagree on how she does her job and how she treats people. What a b***h!!!!
After her call, there were a lot more calls from people bombarding her with insults, which she deserved. With sales people who think like her, no wonder the majority of us gets treated like s**t and given the haughty attitude in high end boutiques. Come on, if a person does not intend to buy something from the shop, they will not even walk into it. The moment they walk in means they have the intention to buy something and they can afford to buy it. Why they walk outta the shop empty handed is coz of the attitude of the sales people which makes them think it's not worth giving business to such s**tty people.
Dunno about you. That's what I think. I appreciate good service and I expect good service whenever I walk into any shop coz that is what I deserve as a customer.
